About Clive

You could say I'm no stranger to travel and experiencing different worlds. Although my family home is in Buckinghamshire, due to my father’s work in the Diplomatic Service, my early years were spent overseas.

Born in India, by the age of 10 I'd experienced four different countries, two of which were in Asia, five different cultures and, a  road-trip of 2,600+ miles, when my parents chose to drive home to England instead of flying.

More recently, I've been on writing retreats in Italy, India and Morocco where my principle focus was The Restoration Project.

My interest in fantasy and science fiction began in my teens, I was especially drawn to the works of David and Leigh Eddings.

My favourite author is Terry Pratchett, as his style mixes drama with humour. Such form gives the reader a release from the tension that builds up in the stories.

I enjoy writing which I try to do daily, in pencil, on lined A4 paper, often whilst listening to Enya or Fearless Soul.

When I'm not writing, you can find me walking in the Chilterns, attending drop-in writing groups or out with friends.

If you see me, be sure to say hello!
